Yep – the weather man got it wrong – suprise right???
See 3 days ago when we left Australia to head for a an elite Internet Marketing Training in New York, the forecast was for fine, hot weather. Well, um we’re here now and it’s raining and about 16 degrees.
Which just proves to me that in business, as in life, no matter how well you ‘plan’ things have a way of turning out the way they are going to ‘turn out’.
I see so many Entrepreneurs ‘planning’ their business to the “nth” degree only to never get around to getting into action and actually making money!
So it’s fitting that the first training at the “10 For 10″ event that we are attending was on the essential elements of an Internet Marketing Business and how to balance learning your craft with producing results.
To give you details of what we are learning would take me hours but the one takeaway I want to give you is this:
Develop the Plan but then Work the Plan!
Don’t let “Perfect” get in the way of “Great”.
I’m off to learn lots more and then IMPLEMENT IMMEDIATELY. Oh and buy an Umbrella

No doubt by now you have heard about “The Best Job in the World” campaign run by Tourism Queensland to promote our beautiful State, and specifically the islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Over 34,000 entrants competed for what was billed as the World’s Best Job – 6 months living in a luxurious villa on Hamilton Island, promoting the Great Barrier Reef and being paid $150,000.
The winner was announced today and my name wasn’t called but I still have definitely come out a winner – let me explain. English entrant Ben Southall actually won the Tourism Queensland’s ‘Best Job in the World’ promotion but I feel so much more fortunate. You see I already have ‘The Best Job in The World’ and not just for a 6 month contract.
Granted my ‘Best Job in the World’ is not in fact a ‘Job’ in the traditional sense of the word. I work for myself running our Internet Marketing business. Like Ben however I get to live in a beautiful part of Queensland and to share this with others through blogging and video marketing. Unlike Ben, I get to do this when and how I please with the freedom to travel to any other part of the World that I like. I set my own agenda and work timetable and answer only to my Family.
I’m not guaranteed $150,000 pay over the next 6 months, in fact I’m not ‘guaranteed’ any income. Instead I get to determine my income based on my productivity and effectiveness in internet marketing. Unlike Ben however, if I do an extraordinary ‘job’ I get paid more – much more. If Ben does an incredible job he’ll get some publicity (perhaps) and greater exposure for his employer.
It was amazing to me to watch the lengths that some of the contestants/applicants went to in order to secure the “Best Job in The World” – everything from blogging, video marketing, tatoos (fake apparently) to riding the London Tube in full scuba gear. All to live in a beautiful location and be paid to promote their Island home for 6 months.
Daily I offer others the opportunity to design their own life and lifestyle. The opportunity to potentially make $300,000 per year or substantially more. The opportunity to live in the most beautiful place on Earth – wherever that may be for them. The opportunity to be their own boss, decide their own hours and chose what they do each day. The opportunity to travel to exotic locations or stay at home with their family – or a mix of the two. All while inspiring others to live the life of their dreams and being rewarded for doing so. Yet I don’t get 34,000 applications a year with people climbing over each other, and going to extraordinary lengths, to be selected to join our team. Why is that?
Simple, those looking for “The Best Job in The World” are looking for the perceived security of, well, a job. Somebody else handing out the money, somebody else telling them what to do and somebody else taking the responsibility. In return they are prepared to live by somebody else’s rules and trade not just time, but their freedom, for dollars.
To the true Entrepreneurs of this World I offer an alternative – Lifestyle, Freedom and Financial Rewards of your own business. There are less Entrepreneurs than job seekers and I will receive far fewer applications than Tourism Queensland did, but the ones that lodge their application with us have the potential to achieve so much more.
While the “Best Job in The World” was a very clever marketing campaign to increase tourism revenue it has reinforced to me how fortunate I am to live the life that I do. I’ve made some challenging choices in my business life and put in countless hours of effort but, as a result, “The Best Job in The World Winner” is, definitely …… Me!
Have an Awesome Day – I have a beach calling me now
Yep that’s right I said “ridiculous guarantee” – but let me get to that in a moment.
The Renegade Professional Training System is, in my opinion, the ulitmate training program if you want to learn how to use attraction marketing and the internet to grow your online business. Period.
Our Renegade Marketer Review Blog contains lots of information on how we have utilised the Renegade Professional and Renegade University training systems to grow our income online.
In fact it was Mike Klingler’s training that enabled me to turn my business around from a cash swallowing, traditional MLM to a ‘new school’ network marketing business cranking out income at an ever increasing rate. I have recommended this training for over a year and have been privileged to watch the businesses (and lives) of several of our members be transformed by their implementation of this training.
Stepping this up a notch, Mike Klingler has joined forces with Ann Sieg, famous for her work “The Renegade Network Marketer“, to make Renegade Professional the Ultimate resource for “How-To” training on growing your business with internet based attraction marketing. Membership to the Renegade Professional has been closed while Mike and Ann upgraded the entire system. The exciting news is that the doors to Renegade Professional are just about to be opened again.
Renegade Professional opens for business on April the 2nd, 2009 at Midday (USA) EST
But an insider tip from me is that you can get access an entire hour earlier if you have already downloaded Ann’s newest e-book “The Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto“. It won’t cost you a cent to download the book and you will be added to Ann’s VIP notification list for Renegade Professional. Plus you’ll will get complimentary access to trainings and additional resources.
I encourage you to download the Marketer’s Manifesto from this link and then you will get all of the lastest updates directly from Ann Sieg and a jumpstart on access to the Renegade Professional opening.
SO …. what’s this ridiculous guarantee?
As if the training in the Renegade Professional wasn’t valuable enough, Mike Klingler and Ann Sieg have just emailed me about a crazy guarantee they are offering to Renegade Professional members. Honestly I doubt that they will need to pay anybody this guarantee as their training is just “that good” – but nonetheless, I have never seen an offer like this behind any training.
Details are in Ann’s email to me below:
Mike and I are so confident our training
will work for you that we’re backing
it up with an unheard of guarantee.
Listen carefully because you WON’T find
a deal like this anywhere else.
EITHER YOU SUCCEED OR WE PAY YOU!
Go through the training and complete all the
action steps according to our instructions.
If after 90 days you’re not generating free
leads for your business or leads that you’re
making a profit with…
Let us know we’ll put you in our group
coaching program for another 90 days!
Once you’re at this stage it’s often just
one little thing in your marketing that needs
to get fine tuned in order to start getting the
results you’re after.
We’ll pick apart what you’re doing and
help you identify what needs to be fixed.
If after that time you’re still not generating
leads at no-cost or a profit let us know and
we’ll not only refund you everything you paid…
WE’LL ALSO PERSONALLY CUT YOU A
CHECK FOR AN EXTRA $300.00 DOLLARS!
So let me ask you this, okay?
When was the last time you saw a networking
company guarantee your success like this?
In fact, when was the last time you saw
anyone guarantee your success like this?
This is how serious Mike and I are about
wanting you to succeed.
And it’s how confident we are in our stuff!
You see, if we DON’T deliver on our end
we’re not only $300 in the hole…
But we’re also out all the time we spent
working with you!
Let that sink in for a minute.
If you go through all the training modules
and follow the action steps we give you…
YOU WILL GENERATE YOUR OWN LEADS FOR FREE!
We absolutely guarantee it.
My advice is to download a copy of Ann’s “Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto“, jump on the early bird opportunity to join Renegade Professional and then get into action with your marketing and put Mike and Ann’s guarantee to the test!
What could happen? Well…. you could just get a thriving business like ours!
Have an Awesome Day

Have an Awesome Day – Zoe
I love twitter – Ok I’ve become a bit of ‘twitter-holic’ but today I have a twitter dilemma!
First things first, if you don’t know what I am talking about – “what’s this Twitter thing you speak of?” – head on over to my twitter account – www.twitter.com/zdeluca
Twitter is social networking combined with a chat site that is taking the web by storm – seriously. Mike Klingler from the Renegade Professional has put together a video training series on Twitter that tells you everything you need to know about Twitter. You can get access to the Twitter training videos for free here:
Even if you are an experienced Twitter user I recommend these training videos to you (and feel free to share with your team).
Ok – so to my “Twitter Dilemma”.
On Twitter you connect with people two ways – they have the option to become “Followers” of yours and read your “tweets”. You can then chose to “Follow” others and see what they are tweeting about. Simple right?
The Dilemma comes from whether I should Follow everybody that Follows me? I’m a sociable person (that’s why I love Social media) so I have decided that if you follow me I will follow you right back. Suffice to say as long as you don’t use profanity, negativity or prejudice in your comments/profile then I’m interested in hearing what you have to say.
This has worked well for me in expanding my audience on Twitter to several thousand people and I have made connections with people from unexpected places and industires. I liked the fact that I was being a social “Twitterfly” and now use an automated service to follow everybody that is willing to listen into my tweets.
As my number of followers has grown however the number of replies has started to increase dramatically as well. Now I find I cannot possibly reply to every direct message I am receiving as there are just too many. I have limited my Twitter time each day and just enter the conversation that is going on at the time.
I was contemplating my navel about how many Twitter follwers are too many – or is there such a thing??? Should I follow everybody? DO I need to be more selective in who I follow? No that just sounds rude – doesn’t it? Why should people listen to me if I won’t ‘listen’ back? But what if I’m not responding to them – is that then rude? Ohh I’mmm not sure – I have a DILEMMA!
So right as I was pondering, the Twitterverse threw an email at me on this very subject. The message was from Mike Dillard, of Magnetic Sponsoring fame, an internet marketing mentor of mine. I have copied Mike’s email in full (below) and would love your thoughts, feedback, and of course, tweets on this subject.
I have a dilemma Zoe…
It’s been the source of an internal debate for a few weeks now, and I’d like to get your thoughts…
I’m talking about Twitter, and the single question that we must all eventually answer…
Do you follow someone just because they followed you? Or do you only follow people you genuinely know and want to follow?
Over the past few months, I’ve done both.
After talking to my good friend and social media maven, Perry Belcher, I decided to “reciprocal follow” everyone who was following me about two months ago.
There are two reasons you’d want to do this…
1: It’s polite.
2: It helps you gain exposure, which will help increase your number of followers.
As of today, I follow around 10,000 people, and have 11,900-ish followers at http://www.Twitter.com/Mike_Dillard
Looking back, I’m not convinced that was the best move to make, and here’s why…
It’s not the number of people who follow you on Twitter that matters, it’s the number of people who actually listen to you.
And if everyone is just “reciprocal following” everyone, not because they WANT to listen to that person, but because they’re trying to increase their exposure and number of followers, then we have a problem…
Everyone’s following everyone, but no one’s really listening.
When I had 8,000 followers and followed 50, I knew that all 8,000 people subscribed to my “Tweets” because they genuinely wanted to plug into my life, and hear what I had to say.
That’s no longer the case.
And it gets worse…
Once you follow 500+ people, you have to start using specialized software like www.TweetDeck.com, just to filter and manage so many messages.
And if you already use TweetDeck like me, you’ve probably set up a custom sub-list of real friends so you can separate all of their messages from the masses of people you don’t know.
How genuine is that?
In the end, reciprocal following simply dilutes the power of an application like Twitter because it’s a behavior that’s motivated by greed instead of authenticity, just so we can all enjoy the illusion of having “more followers”.
That doesn’t sit right with me, so after many days of thought, I’m going to do some surgery on my Twitter account and * gasp * “unfollow” the 10,000+ people I don’t truly know.
If you’re one of them, please do not take it personally. It’s not.
I’m sure I’ll lose quite a few people during this process, but that’s fine. If that’s what it costs to be authentic, then so be it.
And if you continue following me because you truly have an interest in what I have to say and offer, then THANK YOU. That’s what this tool is all about.
My Twitter address is http://www.Twitter.com/Mike_Dillard
In the end, I feel that any true “following” you build in your life should be based on providing real value, not the perpetuation of an illusion daisy-chained from one person to the next.
(If you feel strongly about this as well and would like to share this letter, you’re welcome to do so as you wish).
Thanks Mike – I think?!?!? You made a clear argument for limiting who I follow to my selective handpicked group. BUT…. then I went to Twitter and read your post about starting to delete all your follows and re-establishing your list and I started thinking – “Hey Mike, if you delete me from the people you follow, does that mean that you don’t think I’m worth listening to?” In fact I tweeted you about it but the tweet hasn’t appeared in my Twitter stream so it appears I may already have bitten your “don’t follow dust”.
I extrapolated this further to how would my followers feel if I did this to them? And well…, I’m back to my dilemma because it doesn’t feel very well ‘good’. Granted there would be a thousand or so that probably wouldn’t even notice – these are the ones that Mike was talking about that just mass follow to build up numbers to blast their ads and links to. But what about the genuine ones? The ones that only tweet me very occassionally when they really would like me to ‘hear’ them? I’ve only sent tweets to Mike a couple of times and most of the time to thank him for sharing his knowledge or a great testimonial. Does that now mean I can’t do that? Infact my last tweet to Mike was to thank him for his ‘soap box’ emails -that tell it like it is. So I guess this is another one of those!??!
Hmmm – call me old fashioned (or a sap) but I’m sticking with my “Follow Everybody Back” routine. If people are prepared to follow me then they are going to recieve my tweets. I think it’s only polite to do the same in return. If you slam me with ads or ideas I object to then I can, and will, hit that ‘unfollow’ button fast (I’ll probably add the block button as well).
As my follower numbers increase it will be interesting to see if I stick with my Social Party view of following everybody or if it just gets out of hand. I know @perrybelcher you seem to handle your massive list well and still keep everybody at ‘the party’ happy! I’d love to hear your thoughts on this issue!
Will I reply to every direct message (DM) that I receive – No. So please don’t be upset if I miss yours in the tweet stream. I will however enjoy reading as many of these as I can in my Twitter time each day and responding to some directly. Others I may just tweet about so the Twitterverse gets to share in your wisdom. If you want a reply then please tweet me with @zdeluca on the front of your tweet rather than sending me a DM. I will continue to use tweet deck and my tweet later auto follow function to handle my Twitter account. If you are currently following me and I haven’t follwed back – “tweet me up” about it!
If I want to persue a joint venture or relationship with you (talking buisness folks!) then I will tweet you my email address and we can connect that way. Otherwise stop by and say “hi” at Twitter. Better still tweet a link to this page (please) http://budurl.com/followornot
Oh and anybody that Mike Dillard is still following, @perrybelcher, @mikeklingler, @askDKlive, maybe even @mariaandros you can help me out here, please let Mike know I’m still following him and I appreciate all that he does for our industry – I just can’t reach him via Twitter any more. Which was the only way I had ever actually contacted him personally before.
Also please let Mike know the email was so great I shared it through my blog including live links because, once again, this is a stroke of Marketing Genius and I’m keen to see how many new “Followers” he gets on Twitter as a result.
If you don’t already subscribe to Mike Dillard’s marketing advice you need to. Go to his site and sign up (and get some great training as well) here: Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring
To everybody else follow me on Twitter at: www.twitter.com/zdeluca I’ll follow you back – yeah I will, well for now, oh yes I will – what a Dilemma!
Have an Awesome Day – Zoe
